Everyone Wants to Feel Important

Everyone Wants to Feel Important
“Everyone has an invisible hanging from their neck saying
‘make me feel important.’ Never forget this message
when working with people.”
Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics

As I see it . . . . . . .

Everyone wants to feel important

Life is about making other people feel important . . . . and bringing value into their lives.

When you’re with someone, make them feel as if they’re the most important person in the world. The key is to give them your full and complete attention.

The successful people in life and in business will tell that a big part of their success comes through making people feel important . . . . and helping to get them what they want. As you help others attract more of what they want in their life you attract more of what you want into your life.

Making people feel important, makes them feel good about themselves . . . . and in turn you will form a lasting business relationship with them based on rapport, trust and confidence.

The people that you meet are subliminally saying to you . . . . make me feel important and when you do, you positively move their world. Also new doors will open that where once not there for you in the past.

Everyone wants to feel important . . . . Do your best to help them to feel that way and you will nurture your relationships to a higher and more productive level.

Walk With Your Customer

Walk With Your Customer
“Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don’t walk behind
me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”
Albert Camus 1913 – 1960, French Nobel Prize Winner

As I see it . . . . . . .

Walk with your customer

You may ask you customers to follow your advice . . . . and they may not be ready too or they may resist.

At other times your customers may be aggressive . . . . and tell the way things are going to be . . . . and in your heart you know they will be moving down the wrong path.

Walk with your customer . . . . and build the bond of trust and rapport with them.

The strongest and most productive business relationships are the ones that are build on being of service to your customers . . . . Where you understand customers . . . . their needs . . . . and their motivations.

The Truth Remains the Truth

The Truth Remains the Truth
“Fact’s have a cruel way of substituting, themselves for fancies.
There is nothing more remorseless, just as there is nothing
more helpful, than truth.”
William C. Redfield 1858 – 1932, Democratic Politician
from New York

As I see it . . . . . . .

The truth remains the truth

We have just gone through a very long and painful listening experience with a potential home seller.

Let me explain . . . .

With one of the companies that I’m providing consulting services for.  I recently went on the listing appointment with a new and emerging real estate professional with the company.

The sales professional was well prepared for the listing appointment and prepared an outstanding CMA for the home sellers.

The listing presentation was going smoothly has the real estate sales professional did an outstanding job in her presentation. She explained the benefits of listing with her and company and her marketing strategies to sell the home.

She was building a bond of rapport and trust with the home sellers and it showed in the commutations between the sales professional and the home sellers.

That all changed in a split second . . . . when it came around to pricing.

When the CMA was presented the veins in the neck of one of the sellers was so big they looked like they would explode and both sellers unloaded on the professional.

The home sellers told the sales professional the selling price was far too low. That she was pricing the home to sell fast to get a commission and had no interest in their needs.

The sales professional stayed very composed in very challenges conditions and listen to the home sellers . . . . and made notes on what the sellers where saying.

Once the sellers began to settle down . . . . she ask them if she could ask them a question? They replayed yes.

The sales professional asked . . . . what they felt the price should be? And they told her the price they had in mind. Then she asked them where they got the information about the price and they told off the internet and a couple of neighbors who have recently sold their home.

The profession then asked . . . . are there be questions other then the pricing that prevent them from listing the home her today? They said no.

She told out her i-pad and invested the next hour and half reviewing the MLS and the prices of the homes sold and the homes on the market.

After a long three hour listing appointment sales professional left with a saleable listing that sold in three weeks.

Here’s the key . . . . she was prepared . . . . she stayed professional . . . . she controlled her emotions . . . . she was patient . . . .  she listened . . . . she asked questions . . . .  and did not overreact.

The truth remains the truth about price . . . . but it’s the professional that can explain it properly that makes the difference.

People are Unique

People are Unique
“Homogeneity makes for healthy milk but anemic friendship
that cross culturally imposed lines to enlarge our hearts
and expand our vistas .”
Dan Schmidt, Author

As I see it . . . . . . .

People are unique

People are unique . . . . and one size doesn’t fit all.

People respond differently to the same condition . . . . and they need to be respected for their difference.

People want to be heard . . . . listen to them . . . . and you will build rapport with them. Has you listen to them you will understand them . . . . and discover their uniqueness.

The key is to recognize the person for who they are . . . . When you recognize the person for who they are and their uniqueness you’ll be able to effectively communicate with them as a unique person. This will result in building a bond of mutual trust with them.

When you respect a person for their uniqueness . . . . they will sense it and it will become the stepping stone to creating a strong relationship with the person.

People are unique . . . . discover that uniqueness in them and you will have the key to both successful personal and business relationships.

I May Not Agree With You

I May Not Agree With You
“I disapprove of what you have to say, but I will defend the
death your right to say it.”
Evelyn Beatrice Hall, 1868 – 1919, English Writer

As I see it . . . . . . .

I may not agree with you

I may not agree with you . . . . but you have a right to say it.

As a business professional I may or may not agree with what you’re saying . . . . But it’s my role to listen to what you’re saying . . . . and to understand why your saying it.

Effective communications is an essential business skill in the exchange of information in a successful business relationship.

In order to influence a person that you agree or disagree with to have to proactively listen to them . . . .  and hear them out . . . .  To understand where they’re coming from and how strong their opinions are.

For the other person to listen to you they have to trust you . . . . and there has to be mutual respect and rapport in the business relationship. With it the person will listen to you and with facts you will have the ability to influence them.

Without it there is very little likely hood that they will listen to you or take your advice.

I may not agree with you . . . . Remember the other person as the right to their opinion. Your role is to hear them out and to understand where they’re coming from . . . . what they’re say . . . . and why. Build your relationship with the person that they will listen to you and accept your advice.

Do I Need What You’re Selling

Motivational Power Quote

Do I Need What You’re Selling
“A man’s success in business today turns upon his power to getting people to believe he has something that they want.”
Gerald Stanley Lee 1862 – 1944, American Clergyman and Author

As I see it . . . . . . .

Do I need what you’re selling

Interesting question . . . .

If I need what you’re selling . . . . I may consider buying it from you.

If you convince me I want what your selling . . . . and I believe you . . . . I will buy it from you.

People will only buy from you . . . . when they trust you . . . . have rapport with you . . . . believe you . . . . and you build the value in what your selling . . . . and you create an environment  for them to do business with you.

The key becomes in your ability to influence them . . . . by extending your hand and leading them into ownership without being pushy.

Do I need what you’re selling? The answer omes from effective communications with your customers . . . . and in understanding their needs . . . . their wants . . . . motivations . . . . and capacity to own.

Set Your Standards High

Motivational Power Quote

Set Your Standards High
“If you don’t set a baseline standards for what you’ll accept in life,
you’ll find it’s easy to slip into behavior and attitudes
or quality of life that’s far below what you deserve.”
Anthony Robbins, Author, speaker,

As I see it . . . . . . .

Set your standards high

What you accomplish in life will be a direction reflection of the standards that you set for yourself . . . . Set your standards high.

Know When to Pull and When to Push

Motivational Power Quote

Know When to Pull and When to Push
“A man will be imprisoned in a room with a door that’s unlocked
and opens inwards; as long as it does not occur to
him pull rather than push."
Ludwig Wittgenstein 1919 -1990, Austrian – British philosopher

As I see it . . . . . . .

Know when to pull and when to push

We have to know when we have to push ourselves to take the next step, to take on a new assignment, to get additional education or to reach greater level of success.

Customers love to buy but they don’t like to be sold or pushed. A customer that’s pushed will reach a point in the business relationship where they become uncomfortable. They will either mental withdraw from the relationship or stop returning our calls and end the communications.  But in either case it creates a push back by the customers and the business opportunity is lost.

The soft approach to a business relationship is to reach out to your customers lend them a helping hand and pull them forward, mentor them and guide them through the business relationship.

By using a soft approach we are pulling our customer forward in a series of step some will be small and others will turn out to be a giant step forward.

By pulling our customers forward the relationship will evolve into one of rapport and mutual trust which will become the bedrock of a successful business relationship.

Know when to pull and when to push and you will put yourself in the position to help your customers and to achieve your goals and to reach yours.

Sell The Way People Buy

Motivational Power Quote

Sell The Way People Buy
“Selling isn’t something you do to someone.
it’s something you do for and with someone.”
Ron Willingham, Integrity Selling

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Sell the way people buy

Customers love to buy; but they don’t want to be pressured or sold.

Interview and qualify the customer to determine and understand their motivations, needs and their ability to buy.

Guide the customer through the transaction and demonstrate the value and the benefits of the product and or your services to the customer.

Create a win – win sales and negotiating environment.

Show a sincere interest in the customer and their needs and you will earn the right to close the sale. Ask the customer to make the decision buy and ask for the sale.

Be seen as an expert in your field by the customer. Build rapport, trust and confidence with the customer and be seen as a person of integrity.

Selling is a process and closing the sale is a continuation of the sales process and not an event.

When you sell the way people buy you will find yourself helping your customers to make good decisions and far more of them will make the decision to buy from you.
