The Risk of Comfortable Inaction
“As we face the coming challenge, we too
shall wait upon
the lord . . . . to give the individual
the opportunity to
realize his own highest possibilities .
. . . But they are
far less than long – range risks and
cost of comfortable inaction.”
John F. Kennedy 1917 – 1963, 35th
President
of the United States
As I see it . . . . . . .
The risk of comfortable inaction
The cost of inaction comes with a high
cost . . . . that exceeds the cost of an occasional mistake.
The cost of inaction is paid for in
installment over a life time . . . . That cost is created by the lack of
forward progress . . . . and the lack of achievement.
A person with a proactive plan that
takes a calculated risk has a strategic advantage over the person who takes no
action. The person that takes a calculated risk . . . . risks a setback . . . . They also create the
forward momentum and the opportunity to succeed.
Inaction freezes a person in place . . .
. and the risk of long term failure increased as a result of their failure to
act.
There are no sure things in life . . . .
Success favors the person that person is proactive and takes action.
The risk of comfortable inaction . . . .
comes with a high cost . . . . of being left behind without ever realizing your
full potential.
