The Ability to Think

The Ability to Think
“During my eighty-seven years I have witnessed a whole
succession of technological revolutions. But none of
them has done away with the need for character
in the individual or the ability to think.”
Bernard Barch1870 – 1965, American Financier, Stock
Investor, Philanthropist, Statesman, Political Consultant,

As I see it . . . . . . .

The ability to think

One of the most precious resources you have in life is your ability to think.

The business professional that can think and consistently uses that life skill will find its an invaluable resource in their profession.

Having that ability allows you to sort information . . . . and to use that information to pursue and create successful results.

A thinker will find the answers to problems . . . . They will successful navigate their way through the challenging conditions they encounter. They will also find themselves being able to move through various conditions quicker. They will be more efficiently then someone is trying to do it by flying by the seat of their pants.

Your ability to think impacts every aspect of your life . . . . and with clear thinking you can carve out a path to greater success.

With the ability to think you will find yourself make far fewer  mistake . . . . and making far better use of your time for productive purposes..

Turn Your Mirrors Into Windows

Motivational Power Quote

Turn Your Mirrors Into Windows
“Most people are mirrors, reflecting the moods and emotions of the
times. Some people are windows, bringing light to bear on the
dark corners where trouble festers. The whole purpose of
education is to turn your mirrors into windows.”
Sydney J. Harris 1917 – 1986, American Journalist

As I see it . . . . . . .

Turn you mirrors into windows

When you look at problem through the prism of a mirror . . . . all you will see is the problem.

In looking in that mirror . . . . you are focusing on the problem  itself and you will not see the solution . . . . find answers  . . . . or way to overcome the problem.

When you look at a problem through a window . . . . You’re allowing a new light to reflect on the problem and you look at the problem through the prism of a difference light.

In that light you will see the solutions to the problem and find a way to successfully work your way through the problems and to use the experience as a future resource.

Turn your mirrors into windows . . . . and you will be focused on finding salutations and answers and not get bogged down in the problem.

Positive Thinking Opens Up the Opportunities . . . .

Motivational Power Quote

Positive Thinking Opens Up the Opportunities . . . .
“Positive thinking won’t let you do anything but it will
let you do everything better than negative thinking will.”
Zig Ziglar, Author, Motivational Speaker

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Positive thinking opens up the opportunities . . . .

Positive thinking opens the doors to the way you view your world . . . . And to what you will see.

Once that door is opened  . . . . What you will see in your world will determine what actions you will take and the levels of success that you will accomplish.

Positive thinking will turn your red lights into green lights and will move you’re forward and in the right direction of your success journey.

Positive thinking won't solve all your problems . . . . But with positive thinking you will have far less of them.

Let your positive thinking guild you . . . . And you will find yourself on the path to greater success.

Positive thinking opens up your opportunities . . . . And you can turn your opportunities into success stories.

Worrying Won’t Solve a Problem

Motivational Power Quote

Worrying Won’t Solve a Problem
“When I look back on all these worries,
I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed
that he had a lot of trouble in his life,
most of which had never happened”
Sir Winston Churchill, British Prime Minister

As I see it . . . . . . .

Worrying won’t solve a problem

A person that worries is worrying about conditions that may or may not be real and in many cases will never come about.

Worrying can make a person shut down and become consumed with what there worrying about. Their focus becomes misdirected and their time misused without any positive outcome.

Worrying won’t solve a problem or give you the right answers. What it does is create anxiety, stress and sleepless nights without providing very little or no redeeming value.

When you find a problem coming into your life instead of worrying about it put it into prospective. Is it a real problem and what impacts will it have?

Look at the problem and determine if it needs attending. If the problem needs to be dealt with, deal with it and find the best way to deal with the problem and come up with the best solution to the problem?

Being proactive with a problem reduces the stress and anxiety and will enable you to come up with the best solution. Worrying won’t solve a problem being proactive does.

Stay Ahead of the Curve

Motivational Power Quote

Stay Ahead of the Curve
“You can’t just ask customers what they want
and then try to give it to them.
By the time you get it built, they’ll want something new.”
Steve Jobs, was the co-founder of Apple

As I see it . . . . . . .

Stay ahead of the curve

As we can attest to customers demands are changing and market conditions are evolving.

As business professionals we have to understand the paradigm shifts in the market to stay ahead of the curve and remain relevant.

One of the largest area’s in the shifting market that continues to create problems is the distress sales.

There are more and more problems with title reports that are turning up after the closing. One on the issues is the amount of the exceptions that are on the title insurance as a result of the break in the titles.

In a recent case several months after closing of a distressed property a credit card lien for $20,000 showed on the home when the new buyers was in the process to refinance their home. Nobody wanted to take reasonable for resolving the lien and the new buyer had to pay an attorney to clear up the issue.

There is also major issue that is becoming a real problem for sellers of short sale properties.

If the seller sells their primary resident where the sales price doesn’t cover the mortgage it creates a deficiency at closing. Here’s the problem though December 31st of 2012 the lender will issue a 1099 to the seller. They will not have to taxes on the amount of the deficiency if the short sale is their primary residence. Here’s the catch the lender has 5 years to file a deficiency judgment against the former homeowners.

The lenders are now selling the rights to lien to the properties much like they have been in selling the bad credit card debt to third party collection agencies.

Here’s the issue if a lien is filed against the former homeowner that will prevent the former homeowner from purchasing a new home until they paid off the lien.

If grant money was used as part on the purchase price to buy a home being sold through a short sale or becomes a foreclosure. The sale doesn’t release the buyers from the obligation to pay the grant money back.

To stay ahead of the curve on the sale of distress properties both the buyers and sellers need a real estate attorney to represent them for their future protection.

Become Stronger

Motivational Power Quote

Become Stronger
“I am grateful for all of my problems.
After each one was overcome,
I became stronger and more able to
meet those that were still to come.
I grew in all my difficulties.”
J. C. Penny, Businessman

As I see it . . . . . . .

Become stronger

A problem is an opportunity to become stronger and grow.

Problems are those things that seem to pop up when we least expect them. Most of the time problems need our immediate attention and can’t wait for us to fit them in. The problems throw us off schedule and can change the course of our day.

The problem can bring out the best in us or the worst in us.

Problems are the building blocks of champions. Problems are facts of live and we all encounter them.

The question becomes how to we handle them? Do we respond to a problem and look for solutions? Or do we become overwhelmed and look who to blame?

When a problem is approached from the stand point of looking for solutions, we are taking a proactive approach to the problem.

By taking a proactive approach to the problem we become a problem solver and finding solutions we become stronger.

Keep Pushing Forward - Don’t Give Up

Motivational Power Quote

Keep Pushing Forward - Don’t Give Up
“We may encounter many defeats
but we must not be defeated.”
Maya Angelou, poet

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Keep pushing forward - don’t give up

Don’t give up, don’t quit and don’t surrender focus on the horizon and pursue your dreams for the future and keep pushing forward.

We may encounter setbacks, obstacles and defeats on your success journey but they all are temporary unless we give up.

The things that you want will not be handed to you on a silver platter. It will take a persistent focused effort and time to achieve the things that you want in life.

There will be times that you will have to work a little smarter,  others times  little harder, and you may have to work a little longer. No matter what you’re doing keep pushing forward - don’t give up.

When you encounter roadblocks look for the best way around them. When you faced with a problem look for the solution but don’t succumb to the problem keep going but don’t give up.

The only time that you become defeated is when you give up.  Keep pushing forward and don’t give up and you will find the way to achieve what you’re looking for.

Customer’s Expectations

Motivational Power Quote

Customer’s Expectations
“Customers don’t expect you to be perfect;
they do expect you to fix things
when they go wrong.”
Donald Porter, British Airways

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Customer’s expectations

Customers expect us to do what we said we’ll do and they expect us to get it done well and on time.

They expect us to be trustworthy, and to be someone that they can count on.

They are expecting us to communicate with them in a timely fashion and to keep them informed.

Customers are expecting us to successfully fill full our obligation to them and fix any problems that arise.

They hired us as a professional and are expecting us to live up to that expectation.

If you meet and exceed your customers expectations and everyone comes out a winner.

Customers set the expectations for the business relationships and it becomes our role to exceed the customer’s expectations.

Every Problem Has a Hidden Opportunity

Motivational Power Quote

Every Problem Has a Hidden Opportunity

“Each problem has hidden in it an opportunity
so powerful that is literally dwarfs the problem.
The greatest success stories were created
by people who recognized a problem
and turned it into an opportunity.”
Joseph Sugarman, the mail order maverick

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Every problem has a hidden opportunity

When you’re facing a problem find a way to solve it and look for the hidden opportunity.

The opportunity is there but we only see it when we looks past the problem.

Changing Your Attitude is the Solution to a Problem

Motivational Power Quote

Changing Your Attitude is the Solution to a Problem

“There can only be one solution to any problem;
a change in attitude and in consciousness.
Through the power of consciously focusing on
the things that we create in our imagination,
we give them the ‘nudge’
that brings them through the barrier
from the unreal to the real.
And herein we find the secret of propelling
our heart’s desires from the state
of imagination to the reality of our everyday lives:
It’s our ability to feel as if our dreams
have already come to life,
our wishes are fulfilled,
and our prayers already answered.”
Gregg Braden, New York Times best selling author and Visionary

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Changing your attitude is the solution to a problem

We see the world through our attitude.

Our attitude controls our thoughts, our actions, and our lives. When we change our attitude we change our world and our lives.

Problems Don’t Improve With Age

Motivational Power Quote

Problems Don’t Improve With Age

“One’s objectives should be to get it right,
get it quick, get it out,
and get it over, you see,
your problem won’t improve with age.”
Warren Buffett, American Entrepreneur

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Problems don’t improve with age

A problem unsolved becomes a burden that can crush us under its weight. In facing a problem focus on the solution not the problem. Concentrate on finding answers to the problem and implement the solutions.

Work through your problems as best as you can as quickly as possible and move on.

How We See a Problem Determines Our Action

Motivational Power Quote

How We See a Problem Determines Our Action

“Sometimes the situation is only
a problem because it is looked in a certain way.
Look at it in another way,
the right course of action
may be so obvious that the
problem no longer exists.”
Edward de Boro

As I see it. . . . . . . .
How we see a problem determines our actions.

Our course of action with a problem will be a refection on how we see the problem. Look at a problem in a difference manor and you will see the problem in a difference light.

Many times what seems to appear to be a difficult problem can correct itself when we change our thinking about a problem.

If There’s a Problem What’s the Solution?

Motivational Power Quote

If There’s a Problem What’s the Solution?

“The problem is not that there are problems.
The problem is expecting other wise
and thinking that having problems is a problem.”
Theodore Rubin

As I see it. . . . . . . .
If there’s a problem what’s the solution?

When we concentrate on the problem; we are looking in the wrong direction. We are looking inward at the problem not for resolution.

When faced with a problem look for the solutions, look to turn the problem into an opportunity.

We all will face problems in our lives; in looking for solutions we will find our strength in solving our problems, staying strong and moving forward.
