Know When to Say NO

Know When to Say NO
“It comes from say no to 1,000 things to make sure we don’t get
on the wrong track or try to do too much. We’re always
thinking about new markets we could enter, but it’s
only by say no that you can concentrate on things
that are really important.”
Steve Job 1955 – 2011, American Entrepreneur, Marketer,
Inventor, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Apple Inc

As I see it . . . . . . .

Know when to say NO

The more you do . . . . the more your asked to do.

There’s nothing wrong with being a doer and in having a full plate.

The key is to know what’s important to do.

Don’t get caught up in doing the trivial . . . . and the busy work  that will have no positive impact on your success journey or move you closer to your goals.

There is a big difference between being busy . . . .  and being productive.

To know when to say NO . . . . is to know what’s important to move you in the direction to achieve your goals. Also by saying NO to take control of your time and become far more productive in your daily activities

Innovation is a Process

Innovation is a Process
“Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best
to admit them quickly and get on with improving
your other innovations.”
Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011, Entrepreneur, Marketer, Inventor,
Co-Founder of Apple, Chairman and CEO of Apple Inc

As I see it . . . . . . .

Innovation is a process

When you innovate you will be thinking out of the box . . . . using your creative talents to find the answers. Also an innovator will push their limits to create the breakthrough.

An innovator lives on the edge . . . . and on that edge they will make mistakes.

Mistakes are part of the growth cycle in life . . . . when your stretching yourself forward mistakes will happen.

When you make a mistake . . . . admit as quickly as possible. Look for the solutions to the mistake . . . . implement the solutions . . . . solve the condition . . . . and move pass it as soon as possible.

The key is admitting the mistake and focusing on the solutions and you are investing your time in resolving the mistake and putting the mistake behind you.

Innovation is a process . . . . and in that process there will be mistakes. Innovator . . . . admit their mistake . . . . find a solution  . . . . and move on.

Be a Leader in Your Field or be a Follower

Motivational Power Quote

Be a Leader in Your Field or be a Follower
“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011, co-founder of Apple Inc.

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Be a leader in your field or be a follower

The choice is yours to make . . . .

Are you going to make the choice to become a leader in your field of endeavor and stand out as an innovator? Or are you going to follow the pack and become a me too type of person.

When you become a leader in your field you set the course that you will take and you will also set the pace for your success journey and take control of your destiny.

In following the crowd you will find yourself being left behind. Be innovative and be a leader in your chosen field of endeavor.

The leader sets the pace for others to follow and takes personal responsibility for the results that they achieved.

Be a leader in your field or be a follow . . . . Be the leader in your field and take control of your future.

A True Leader Leads

Motivational Power Quote

A True Leader Leads
“A true leader has the confidence to stand alone,
the courage to make tough decisions,
and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.
He does not set out to be a leader,
but becomes one by the quality of his actions
and the integrity of his intent.”
 Anonymous

As I see it . . . . . . .

A true leader leads

A true leader leads and commands respect not by their title by have but through their actions as Admiral Halsey did in World War II

A true leader creates confidence not by their words or what they’re going to do but what and when they do it. A good example is President John F. Kennedy taking control and handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

A true leader makes the tough decision want they have to be made and does what’s right not what is politically correct. As Ronald Ragan did when he confronted the air controller walkout issue and made the tough decisions.

A true leader listens as Steve Jobs did in bring new products to the market.

One of the strong leaders we have had in the country in the last 50 years is Lee Iacocca he took control of Chrysler when they were on the brink of bankruptcy. He can in took control on the company, listened took advice, made the tough decision, and took action. Chrysler borrowed money stay afloat.

Chrysler emerged as a stronger company and all the money was paid back ahead of schedule.

Lee Iacocca took command of Chrysler and earned respect through his actions.

A true leader leads from the front and takes command and leads by example.

Stay Ahead of the Curve

Motivational Power Quote

Stay Ahead of the Curve
“You can’t just ask customers what they want
and then try to give it to them.
By the time you get it built, they’ll want something new.”
Steve Jobs, was the co-founder of Apple

As I see it . . . . . . .

Stay ahead of the curve

As we can attest to customers demands are changing and market conditions are evolving.

As business professionals we have to understand the paradigm shifts in the market to stay ahead of the curve and remain relevant.

One of the largest area’s in the shifting market that continues to create problems is the distress sales.

There are more and more problems with title reports that are turning up after the closing. One on the issues is the amount of the exceptions that are on the title insurance as a result of the break in the titles.

In a recent case several months after closing of a distressed property a credit card lien for $20,000 showed on the home when the new buyers was in the process to refinance their home. Nobody wanted to take reasonable for resolving the lien and the new buyer had to pay an attorney to clear up the issue.

There is also major issue that is becoming a real problem for sellers of short sale properties.

If the seller sells their primary resident where the sales price doesn’t cover the mortgage it creates a deficiency at closing. Here’s the problem though December 31st of 2012 the lender will issue a 1099 to the seller. They will not have to taxes on the amount of the deficiency if the short sale is their primary residence. Here’s the catch the lender has 5 years to file a deficiency judgment against the former homeowners.

The lenders are now selling the rights to lien to the properties much like they have been in selling the bad credit card debt to third party collection agencies.

Here’s the issue if a lien is filed against the former homeowner that will prevent the former homeowner from purchasing a new home until they paid off the lien.

If grant money was used as part on the purchase price to buy a home being sold through a short sale or becomes a foreclosure. The sale doesn’t release the buyers from the obligation to pay the grant money back.

To stay ahead of the curve on the sale of distress properties both the buyers and sellers need a real estate attorney to represent them for their future protection.

Your Time is Limited . . . .

Motivational Power Quote

Your Time is Limited . . . .
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results
of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out you own voice.
And most important, have the courage to
follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary.”
Steve Jobs, was a American inventor and businessman

As I see it . . . . . . .

Your time is limited . . . . your opportunities are endless

I believe Steve Jobs lived the life in the philosophy of his quote.

All of our lives have a time stamp on it; we just don’t know when it will expire.

Live the life in your heart and you will live a life of personal fulfillment. Living a life to fill other people’s vision of who you should leads to living a life of regret.

Listen to the inner voice in your heart and have the courage to step out of the box and follow the vision of your dreams.

Your time is limited . . . . your opportunities are endless. Follow your heart and listen to your inner voice to make the most of each day in pursuing your dreams.

Learning the Hard Way

Motivational Power Quote

Learning the Hard Way
“One of the things I learned the hard way
was that it doesn’t pay to get discourage.
Keep busy and making optimism a way
of life can restore your faith in yourself.”
Steve Jobs, Co-founder of Apple Computer

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Learning the hard way

Some of our best life lessons we learn will come the hard way.

In the moments of discouragement when the pressure may feel unbearable we have to have the strength of conviction that we will successfully prevail.

In those moments we have to have an optimistic look out and approach the issue with the attitude that we take control on the issue and successfully resolve it.

A positive outlook and actions will keep us busy in the resolution of the issue and not dwelling on the issue itself.

Learning the hard way is allowing the discouragement to take control of our life and becoming reactive to the situation.

Be proactive and in control of the conditions that come into our lives. Once you do you increase the odds of successfully resolving the conditions.

Learning the hard way is a life experience to move forward with wisdom.
