To Understand

To Understand
“To understand comes from wisdom . . . . To know what to
do with what you understand takes wisdom.
To acquire wisdom is a life long journey.”
Lou Ludwig, Sales and Management Consultant,
Success Coach, Speaker, Trainer and Author

As I see it . . . . . . . .
To Understand

Wisdom . . . . comes through our experiences throughout our lifetime. Wisdom is a result from trial . . . . error . . . from our successes . . . . from our setbacks . . . . and from failure. Having an open mind, and learning from our life experiences becomes a stepping stone to acquiring wisdom.

Wisdom . . . . gives us the insight to do things in a more efficient and productive manner. Wisdom will also become the red flag on the things to avoid. And that gut feeling that we’re on the right track . . . . and when we get off track.

Wisdom . . . . contributes to your success . . . . and helps you to make better decisions to create that success.

Wisdom . . . . is not acquired in a class room . . . . It’s acquired in the school of hard knocks from a life time of experiences.

To understand is wisdom . . . . to know what to do with what you understand takes wisdom. When you have wisdom you will do the right thing.

Acquiring Wisdom

Acquiring Wisdom
“Wisdom is acquired as a result of your life experiences and in
weathering the winds of change that those experiences
bring into your life. Some would say that wisdom
is acquired in the school of hard knocks.
Lou Ludwig, Sales and Management Consultant,
Success Coach, Speaker, Trainer and Author

As I see it . . . . . . . .
Acquiring wisdom

Wisdom is acquired through our life experiences.

The experiences can come to you from many directions. They can be turbulent or calm . . . . but every experience can be a learning experience when you look at them with an open mind.

Wisdom is also acquired from trial and error. It’s in having the willingness to look at thing in a different light . . . . and learning to do things in a more efficient and productive manner.

Wisdom is learned in the classroom of life . . . . and some would say it acquired in the school of hard knocks.

Acquiring wisdom . . . . Is a lifelong process of learning from your life experiences and in applying those lessons in an effective and productive way in the future.

Know When to Say NO

Know When to Say NO
“It comes from say no to 1,000 things to make sure we don’t get
on the wrong track or try to do too much. We’re always
thinking about new markets we could enter, but it’s
only by say no that you can concentrate on things
that are really important.”
Steve Job 1955 – 2011, American Entrepreneur, Marketer,
Inventor, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Apple Inc

As I see it . . . . . . .

Know when to say NO

The more you do . . . . the more your asked to do.

There’s nothing wrong with being a doer and in having a full plate.

The key is to know what’s important to do.

Don’t get caught up in doing the trivial . . . . and the busy work  that will have no positive impact on your success journey or move you closer to your goals.

There is a big difference between being busy . . . .  and being productive.

To know when to say NO . . . . is to know what’s important to move you in the direction to achieve your goals. Also by saying NO to take control of your time and become far more productive in your daily activities

do after you do what you are expected to do.”
Brian Tracy Self-Help Author and Motivational Speaker

As I see it . . . . . . .

Success in life

When you’re consistently doing more than expected of you . . . . you are setting the standards for a life of success .

Your life becomes a direct reflection of your expectations . . . .  Set your expectation high and made it your mission to reach and exceed your expectations. Use that as your personal standard for your future . . . . and your future success.

The Resource of Time

The Resource of Time
“Everything requires time, it is the only truly universal condition.
All work takes place in time and uses up time. Yet most people
take for granted this unique, irreplaceable, and necessary
resource. Nothing else, perhaps, distinguishes effective
executive as much as their tender loving care of time.”
Peter F. Drucker, Austrian Born American
Management Consultant, Educator,
and Author

As I see it . . . . . . .

The resource of time

You move through the moments of your day as the moment just tick away.

Some will pass and being value into your life . . . . while other just seem to just slip away almost without notice.

We have all be blessed with the miracle of the same 24 hours . . . . but what one does with those 24 hours makes a difference in their life.

For those who invest their time in productive activities will see value return to their life with dividend.

For those who have wasted their day in unproductive activities will see their moments slip away life grains of sand in their hand.

The resource of time . . . . is one of your greatest of resources and what you do with that resource . . .  is yours to choose.

Mental Notes

Mental Notes
“Ideas can come from anywhere and at any time, The problem
with making mental notes is that the ink fades very rapidly.”
Rolf Smith, Forward Thinker and Author

As I see it . . . . . . .

Mental notes

I can share with you from personal experience making mental notes are soon forgotten.

Over the course of a day . . . . I’m driving to meetings and appointments . . . . working with customers . . . . speaking to groups . . . . conducting training . . . . in meeting . . . . and in consulting.

In a flash you get an idea and you make a mental note on the idea with the intention of acting on it . . . . and left on its own the mental note the ideas fades from your memory very quickly.

What I have found that works best for me is . . . .

I carry (3x5) index cards in my shirt pocket to make a quick note of the idea. It works great when I’m in a meeting without disturbing the other people in the room or for saving a fast idea or thought before I lose it.

I also use a digital voice recorder when I’m flying and driving . . . . and I can tell it’s very productive in saving your idea.

A mental note, fade very fast . . . . Making a written note or a voice note preserves the idea and gives you the ability to expend it and make the most out of it.

Time Waits For No One

Motivational Power Quote

Time Waits For No One
“Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and
enjoy every moment of it.
No idleness, no laziness, no procrastination; never put
off till tomorrow what you can do to-day .”
Lord Chesterfield 1694 -1773, British Statesman

As I see it . . . . . . .

Time waits for no one

When we were children time moved slowly.

It seemed like our birthday took forever to come around. It felt like Christmas would take an eternity to be here.

Next Saturday took forever to get here and summer vacation was a life time away.

Well weren’t children any longer and our birthdays seem to zip by like mile markers on a highway and we continually asking ourselves were did the time go?

Time waits for no one . . . . And our time is what we make of it.

Treat the moments in your life as a perishable resource one that only brings value to your life when you bring value into the moments of your life.

The moments in your life become a direct reflection of the way you use those moments. What you do in those moments creates the value in your life.

Use your moments for productive purposes and your life becomes productive. Waste your time and you’ll be wasting your life.

Time waits for on one and as what we sod we will reap.

Focus on What Really Matters

Motivational Power Quote

Focus on What Really Matters
“Focus is not a business only thing.
Each person has only twenty-four hours per day,
and how we spend those hours shows
what’s important in our lives.
The question we must ask ourself is . . .
Are we focusing on what really matters.”
Mac Anderson, founder of Simple Truth, Successories

As I see it . . . . . . .

Focus on what really matters

It’s not until we know what really matters to us, can we really begin to focus our time on what’s important.

When we are focusing our time on what really matters we are making better use of our time and see a higher rate return for our efforts.

Knowing what really matters is important in our career as well as in our personal endeavors.

When we can focus our energies on what matters we are finding the highest and best use for our time and we become far more productive in our effort and in our results.

Focus on what really matters . . . . and you’re focusing on the most important things in your life.

Take it Serious

Motivational Power Quote

Take it Serious
“Few people take objective really seriously.
They put average effort into too many things,
rather than superior thought and effort into a
few important things.
People who achieve the most are selective as well as determined.”
Richard Koch, entrepreneur, management consultant, writer

As I see it . . . . . . .

Take it serious

We will take on many new objectives throughout our career. The success or failure of many of those objectives will be linked back to the start of the project.

The degree of seriousness that we applied to achieving the desired outcome at the beginning of a new project influences the outcome.

When we determine the importance of the project we can commit our efforts to what most important and that will have a positive influence on our business and or our career.

Focus you efforts and energies what’s most important. Your efforts will yield the highest rate of return for you, your business and contribute to your long term success.

Take what you do seriously and focus your efforts on what’s important and you will find your days becoming more productive and there will be more rewards in your efforts.

Take it serious and your business and your world changes for the better.

Don’t Become Complacent – Just Do It

Motivational Power Quote

Don’t Become Complacent – Just Do It
“A man who is contented with what
he has done, will never become
famous for what he will do .”
Fred Estabrook, author

As I see it. . . . . . . .
Don’t become complacent
Just do what you have to do and do it now.
You can’t rely on what you’re done yesterday, today is a new day and yesterday is history. What has to be done has to be done today.

What you’re going to do won’t fuel your success journey and has very little value; you have to take action to make what has to be done today a priority and do it now.
What you do today and your results is what counts.

Don’t sit on yesterday’s results; blaze a new path to make today a productive day that contributes to your long term success.

Don’t become complacent just do what you have to do and do it now.

Time is Wealth

Motivational Power Quote

Time is Wealth
“When you play it too safe,
you’re taking the biggest risk of your life . . . .
Time is the only wealth we’re given.”
Barbara Sher, author

As I see it. . . . . . . .
Time is wealth

When you were born you were given the wealth of time. What you do with that time is your choice.

Value your time as a precious resource one that can only be used once and once it expended it is gone forever never to be used again.

Focus on investing your time and not using it. You can invest your time wisely in productive pursuits that will pay you a dividend through out your life or the time can be wasted returning very little value of no value. What you decide to do is a choice and that choice is yours.

Manage your wealth of time as a precious resource and you resource of time will be return to you as wealth.
